'Why I Won't Be Supporting The Salvation Army This Xmas' -Written by Andrew P. Street
"But that's the position the Salvation Army have chosen to take in public, and I respect their decision to take it. And so I am following their example by making my own position public and making clear that I will no longer support the Salvation Army. Many people choose this time of year to make their choices about the charities to whom they donate. I've done so myself, and I have chosen to put my resources toward organisations that don't put conditions on which children they deem to be worthy of love, respect, and protection...."

"After all, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse were downright scathing as recently as September in their assessment of the Salvation Army's failure to protect children under their care."-Andrew P. Street,
Sydney Morning Herald.

At KMR Beaute I try to steer clear from politics, sexuality or religion. I am a humanitarian foremost. I know that some niche skincare brands market to certain religions with prayers or religious quotes written on the packaging as a form of positive affirmation to their customers, especially for their teenage market...fantastic! Let's lift ourselves up and those around us.

I do not think that a charitable organisation should pick and choose who they will and who they won't offer support to, based on that persons sexuality, which is not simply chosen by the individual. Why would one want to choose to be ridiculed?

The need for food and shelter tends to overwhelm a person more than their alleged need to satiate their own pleasures of the flesh. Of course it may happen, but to pull your support away from disadvantaged people based on speculation or some antiquated belief system, well it doesn't seem quite right to me. Sure the article that inspired me to write this blog does not mention what I have just referred to, but that was what I have read in the past. I was happy to leave it in the past until I read this article and it reminded me of The Salvation Army and how they would not help those in need if they identified themselves as being gay or a lesbian. You are frozen, when your hearts not open.

In the past I have worked as a fast food restaurant Manager. I have served some customers who were morbidly obese. Some came for seconds and thirds. Sure the burgers were better than our direct competitor, but it still felt unusual at times to feel somehow that I was contributing to another persons bad health by selling them food that may have a considerably bad affect on their health. But I did it with a smile, because I want to do my job well and I want to make each person feel as comfortable as the next person. I was not in a position to judge who can and can not buy a second burger from me. In fact what you think that you should say to someone in order to help them, could in fact be just the nudge that they really don't need and they could take their own life.

'The GREAT Weight Debate'-KMR Beaute Blog, June 10th 2019

Why must I be so direct about this topic? Well because people are direct with me when they ask me "I mean this in a supportive way, but have your ever thought of eating?"...my slim physique, can make some people freak! I work really hard, pay my taxes, I help others out...Eat Food?! I knew that I forgot to do something this month?!

Answer:-
Have you met my grandfather? No? We have the same body type. I despise exercise, I love walking, everywhere, I eat a lot, no I do not have a fast metabolism, my thyroids are normal, I do not have worms...I have been tested and tested, mum told me not to listen to such nonsense from other people, it still creeps in now and again, we let it, it REALLY hurts when your ok, but others who are dealing with their own issues, will never accept that. Large people and homeless people "just have a problem or they hate themselves"...not necessarily. I wanted to be overweight when I was younger because I was conditioned to believe that something was wrong with my slim build. Nothing was wrong. Imagine eating until you throw up and then you eat more..been there, still didn't put weight on..maybe it is me, if everyone says so?! Lucky that they didn't tell me to kill myself like they did with Tyrone Unsworth, I was 13 as well. I would have done anything to make the bullies stop. I was lucky that they stopped.

Tyrone Unsworth, 13, who took his own life after being bullied

Maybe I "don't know how easy I have it." I do, I really get it and I am totally fine, I want to do what I can to make sure as many people are as fine as possible as well..so I blog and more.

Please help me-Don't guess me, ask me. Be angry, but don't be cruel. You don't have to like everyone, some you have to work with, the rest just walk away.

We have plenty of doctors, psychiatrists and lawyers who specialise in their own respective fields and they are ready to consult, they don't need our 'help' to tell others what is wrong with them..allegedly. But our community does need our help and most importantly our understanding.

Having the 'safe schools' program in a sense is similar to businesses having a dedicated person to represent them as their Cultural Manager and another as their Diversity Manager. The 'safe school' program is not about convincing children about what their sexuality is or should be, as alleged, than it is to have a Cultural and/or Diversity Manager working alongside you at work. They are not there to persuade people to change their ethnicity or sexuality, they are there to offer advice and to helpfully reduce any stigmas. The best outcome for 'safe schools' and these Managers at your work is for the program/positions to become obsolete due to it simply not being needed anymore. Rather than it stopping before it really had a chance to start. The decision to delete something is a lot harder on the children than it is if (and I honestly hope that we get there one day) it just became obsolete over time. My how times have changed or have they stayed the same? Some people, or organisations if you will, go back to the past where it feels safe and things seem  easier. Others move forward, they have no choice as the former just turned them away. The kangaroo and the emu where chosen are on the Australian crest because they can't walk backwards, they walk forward. Advance Australia (Be) Fair.

"You only see what your eyes want to see,
How can life be what you want it to be?
You're frozen, When your heart's not open"-Frozen, Madonna

Most people don't know why they do some of the things that they do, others are perfectly aware and yet they keep doing bad by others. They don't want to hear from you what they already know. But some people want to hear you and for you to hear them too. Please listen. Truly, madly, deeply listen..without prejudice.
