ECZEMA DILEMMA-Part 2

Crouching Tiger, Bearded Dragon-Eczema, To Shave Or Not?

Depending on your work's "Company Grooming Standards", some men must shave each day for work, other's might be a bit more lucky as they can conceal their facial eczema by growing a beard when it appears within the beard line. However that may exacerbate the situation by causing extra warmth on the face which can cause you to become even more irritated...beard be gone!

STEP 1
I would recommend that you use some clippers before you wet shave as a razor straight onto a beard will most definitely catch on the blades. If your eczema is bumpy and slightly elevated (this can happen when you scratch on one particular area continuously, from my personal experience, and the skin is inflammed), then I would recommend using a clipper attachment number 1 to give your clipper blade a bit of height away from your skin. This attachment also works very well for 'Man Scaping' your arm pit hair, leg hair, arm hair and the hair 'down there' as well. That is if, like me, you do not want to shave your body...I digress.

Be Brave & Shave-It Hurts!
Why would shaving your face hurt?...Depending on the severity of your flare up, you could potentially cut small chunks off your face, just as those who may have a pimple breakout and they need to shave, you are cutting the heads of the inflammation off-painful, bloody, takes a while to stop bleeding and it potentially could become infected..Be brave and shave. But what can you do in this difficult situation?
Avène Cicalfate Restorative Cream
My Catchphrase-Cicalfate it!
Use this after shaving, after your skin stops bleeding to cool and repair. Every household should have this product in their first aid kit or cupboard at home and at work. It has antibacterial agents within it that help the skin to heal. After hair removal, mild burns and even genital skin that may get caught in a pair of electronic clippers when one is 'Man Scaping' and loses ones attention for a second and the skin is cut (speaking from personal experience unfortunately) as it soothes and repairs nicely.

Soldier On!

"Clinical Outcomes-This product was tested by 401 children suffering from benign skin lesions, twice a day for 15 days. The effectiveness of Cicalfate Restorative Cream was observed in 85% of cases. A significant and highly satisfactory improvement in the skin lesions was observed in 89% of cases. Dermatologists observed an overall excellent tolerance of the product in 80% of cases. Speeds up skin repair and regeneration."-Avene.com.au

Give Me A Break! Mask On
This can be quite stressful mentally and physically, so that night after work, I put on a face mask that cooled, drenched my skin in moisture and it gave me a feeling of blissful ease.
Jurlique-Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Gel Mask
At EASE Soldier!

Jurlique's Herbal Recovery (my skin needed some serious recovery that day) hydrating and revitalising gel mask infused with antioxidant beads that release to help address the first signs of ageing..YES!

This mask is SO soothing. Some soothing masks have still irritated my skin (ironic I know), but not this mask. Ten minutes of bliss before you wash it off, although that night I fell asleep with it on as it felt like a day and a half, it was not a problem the next morning as my redness was greatly reduced and I felt good, really good.
