Ready, Willing & Ableism

I went to Turner Primary School in Canberra and I was lucky that the school behind ours was a school for kids with special needs, yes I said lucky. There were many days where the two schools united for play dates or where we looked after each other in classroom activities. Sometimes it was fun and other times us kids saw it as "torture" for us. 

I do not regret a thing and I am truly lucky that I grew up living with diversity in my life. Anything less than that, I'm sure would have scared me like it does so many.
